How to use Beeswax wraps
Whether you’re already an avid user of beeswax wraps, or still considering the switch away from single use plastic wrap, here’s some really useful tips about how to use beeswax wraps more effectively.
Natural beeswax wraps are pretty amazing and with the proper care and attention they will last for well over 12 months. They also provide an eco-friendly alternative to cling film and tin foil meaning they’re great for the environment. And because they’re reusable, they also save you money over time.
From covering leftovers, to wrapping sandwiches when on the move, plus everything in between, there's so many uses for beeswax wraps. Here’s just a few:
-Covering leftovers
-Sealing jars without lids
-Wrapping packed lunches
-Wrapping a cheese board
-Keeping salads or cut vegetables fresh
-Covering bread
-Proving dough
-Using as a gripper when opening tight jars

You could even consider:
Wrapping up your toothbrush to keep it clean when travelling
Keeping your soap contained in your wash bag
Keeping an open bottle of wine fresh
Using as a grip to open tight jars
Placing around cutlery in a picnic bag to stop it rattling

Beeswax wraps can also be used in the fridge or freezer. They are also easily rewaxed when the time comes. And because they’re biodegradable, you can compost them at the end of their life or use as eco-friendly firefighter

Wrap, Rinse and Reuse:
1. Unfold your wrap. To loosen, flex and fold the wrap between your fingers. It may feel a little rigid at first but it quickly loses its stiffness.
2. Once flexible, use the warmth of your hands to mould the wrap around the item being covered.  Body heat activates the natural adhesive which allows the wrap to seal around a bowl, plate, or stick to itself.
3. After use, wash without scrubbing using a mild dish soap and cold water, then air dry.
4. Once dry, roll up to store as this minimises creases and prevents deep folds from developing.

Few basic rules to ensure you get the most from the wraps.
-Do not cover anything hot
-Do not wash in hot water as this will cause the wax to melt
-Do not use in a microwave or oven
-Since our wraps are washed in cool water, we recommend not covering raw meat or fish for food hygiene reasons.
-We also suggest putting acidic items like lemons in a bowl first before covering. This is because citric acid can sometimes start to break down the wax over time.
-Avoid naked flames too. Beeswax is extremely flammable. This is why they make excellent firelighters when they reach the end of their life.
