BEE Zero Waste FAQs

Beeswax Candle FAQs

What are beeswax candles made of?

Beeswax candles are made from the wax that bees produce to build their honeycombs. It's a natural, renewable resource that burns cleanly and brightly.

Why choose beeswax candles over other types?

Beeswax candles burn cleaner, longer, and brighter than most other types of candles. They are natural, non-toxic, and produce negative ions that help purify the air.

Do beeswax candles have a scent?

Yes, they naturally emit a subtle, sweet fragrance similar to honey and floral nectar, without the addition of artificial scents.

How long do beeswax candles last?

Beeswax candles tend to have a longer burn time compared to paraffin or soy candles. The actual burn time can vary depending on the size of the candle.

Are beeswax candles smokeless?

While no candle can be entirely smokeless, beeswax candles burn with little smoke when trimmed properly and kept away from drafts.

How should I care for my beeswax candle?

Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn. Keep the candle away from drafts to avoid uneven burning and dripping.

Can beeswax candles help with allergies?

Beeswax candles are known to emit negative ions when burned, which can help reduce pollutants and allergens in the air.

Are your beeswax candles ethically sourced?

Yes, our beeswax is ethically sourced, ensuring the well-being of the bees and the sustainability of beekeeping practices.

Can I recycle or reuse the wax from a beeswax candle?

Yes, leftover beeswax can be collected and melted down to create new candles or other beeswax products.

Do beeswax candles melt faster in hot climates?

Beeswax has a high melting point, making it more resistant to melting in warm conditions compared to other types of wax.

Why is there a white film on my beeswax candle?

This is called "bloom" and is a natural occurrence with pure beeswax. It indicates high quality and can be gently wiped off or left as is.

Are beeswax candles safe for pets?

Yes, beeswax candles are non-toxic and safe for pets, making them a better choice for households with animals.

Do you offer different colors of beeswax candles?

Yes, we do offer different colors of beeswax candles! In addition to the natural, beautiful shades of beeswax that range from pale yellow to deep golden, we also use natural dyes to create a variety of colors.

How should BEE Zero Waste beeswax candles be stored?

BEE Zero Waste beeswax candles should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve their natural color and scent.

How do I trim the cotton wick, and how often should it be done?

For optimal burning, trim the cotton wick to about 1/4 inch before each use. This helps prevent the flame from becoming too large, which can lead to sooting and uneven burning. A properly trimmed wick will also extend the life of your candle.

Can I customize my BEE Zero Waste beeswax candle order?

Yes, at BEE Zero Waste, we offer customization options for our beeswax candles. Whether you're looking for a specific size, scent (using natural essential oils), or even color (using natural dyes), we're here to make your vision come to life. Please contact us with your request, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
