Our Square Braided Pure Cotton Wick is a premium, all-natural wick designed to deliver a clean, consistent, and reliable burn across a wide range of candle styles. Featuring a durable square braid, this wick maintains a steady upright position and provides excellent capillary flow—making it ideal for use in moulded or rolled beeswax candles, and perfect for beeswax tealights.
Crafted from 100% pure cotton, this wick is free from metal cores, synthetic fibers, or chemical treatments, ensuring a non-toxic, eco-friendly flame. The square braid is designed to curl slightly while burning, promoting self-trimming and helping to reduce mushrooming, soot, and smoke.
Thanks to its open weave and rigid structure, the wick efficiently draws up even thick waxes like beeswax, coconut, or soy, resulting in a bright, stable flame with minimal afterglow. This makes it a versatile choice for candle makers working with beeswax or any other type of wax, including soy, coconut, paraffin, or blends.
We’ve fully tested wick performance with our own BEE Zero Waste pure beeswax, and recommend the following:
#6/0 - perfect for slim taper candles up to 7 mm
#1/0 and #2/0 wicks are perfect for beeswax tealights, and candles up to 40 mm

BEE Zero Waste FAQs
Beeswax candles are made from the wax that bees produce to build their honeycombs. It's a natural, renewable resource that burns cleanly and brightly.
Beeswax candles burn cleaner, longer, and brighter than most other types of candles. They are natural, non-toxic, and produce negative ions that help purify the air.
Yes, they naturally emit a subtle, sweet fragrance similar to honey and floral nectar, without the addition of artificial scents.
Beeswax candles tend to have a longer burn time compared to paraffin or soy candles. The actual burn time can vary depending on the size of the candle.
While no candle can be entirely smokeless, beeswax candles burn with little smoke when trimmed properly and kept away from drafts.
Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn. Keep the candle away from drafts to avoid uneven burning and dripping.
Beeswax candles are known to emit negative ions when burned, which can help reduce pollutants and allergens in the air.
Yes, our beeswax is ethically sourced, ensuring the well-being of the bees and the sustainability of beekeeping practices.
Yes, leftover beeswax can be collected and melted down to create new candles or other beeswax products.
Beeswax has a high melting point, making it more resistant to melting in warm conditions compared to other types of wax.
This is called "bloom" and is a natural occurrence with pure beeswax. It indicates high quality and can be gently wiped off or left as is.
Yes, beeswax candles are non-toxic and safe for pets, making them a better choice for households with animals.
Yes, we do offer different colors of beeswax candles! In addition to the natural, beautiful shades of beeswax that range from pale yellow to deep golden, we also use natural dyes to create a variety of colors.
BEE Zero Waste beeswax candles should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve their natural color and scent.
For optimal burning, trim the cotton wick to about 1/4 inch before each use. This helps prevent the flame from becoming too large, which can lead to sooting and uneven burning. A properly trimmed wick will also extend the life of your candle.

Our Vegan Wax Wraps are a plant-based alternative to our Beeswax Wraps, crafted for those following a vegan lifestyle. Instead of beeswax, these wraps use a blend of candelilla wax, pine resine and coconut oil, offering the same sustainable wrapping solution without any animal byproducts.
Use the warmth of your hands to mold the wrap over a bowl, container, or piece of food. The wrap will hold its shape when it cools, creating a seal that keeps food fresh. Perfect for wrapping sandwiches, cheese, vegetables, and covering bowls.
Yes, both our Beeswax and Vegan Wax Wraps can be washed gently in cool water with a mild dish soap. Avoid hot water, as it can melt the wax. Let them air dry, and they’re ready to be used again.
With proper care, our wraps can last up to a year or even longer. After extensive use, they can be refreshed with a new coat of wax or composted, making them a zero-waste option.
Absolutely! Both our Beeswax and Vegan Wax Wraps are fully compostable at the end of their life. They're made from natural materials that break down in a compost environment, aligning with our zero-waste goals.
Yes, our wraps can be used in the freezer for up to a month, making them a great option for storing bread, vegetables, or leftovers. Just ensure the food is wrapped tightly to prevent freezer burn.
We recommend not using our wraps with raw meat or fish. The wraps can't be washed in hot water, which is necessary to remove bacteria associated with these foods.
Our Beeswax / Vegan Wraps have a mild, natural honey scent when new, which fades with use.
All BEE Zero Waste Wraps are handcrafted with care at our workshop. We are committed to creating high-quality, sustainable products that support a zero-waste lifestyle.
You can refresh your wrap by placing it on a baking sheet in the oven on low heat for a few minutes or using a hairdryer. This method reactivates the wax, making the wrap as good as new.

Yes, our soaps are formulated with natural and organic ingredients known for their gentleness. However, we always recommend patch testing a new soap if you have particularly sensitive skin, as individual sensitivities to natural ingredients can vary.
While our soaps are crafted to be mild and nourishing for all skin types, we recommend using products specifically formulated for facial care when it comes to your face. This is due to the delicate nature of facial skin. However, many customers find our soaps gentle enough for full-body use.

From sourcing the finest organic ingredients to the final curing stage, every step is carried out with care and precision.
To extend the life of your soap, keep it in a well-drained soap dish and allow it to dry between uses. Avoid leaving it in standing water, as this can cause the soap to become soft and reduce its longevity.
